World Environmental Day of this year is commemorated under the theme “ Simple life – Sustainable Future”. In relation to this Environmental Unit of District Secretariat of Matara has taken measures to implement special programme including making Environmental Affirmation in the morning on 05th June. A lecturer on “ The environment and you ” will also be delivered in this regard.
It is scheduled to hand over the first copy of the souvenir named “ Nidahase Piyasatahan ” edited by the Cultural Division of District Secretariat of Matara. This booklet includes different type of invasions and special events of Sri Lankan history from the nuradhapura period to 1972
